  • This morning’s attack started around 9 am ET and was aimed at the DNS Services which provide IP translation to/from www.domainnames .  Most services have been stopped by a flood of malicious requests from tens of millions of IP addresses disrupting the system. The Firm assisting with the DDOS described the events as a “very sophisticated and complex attack.” Still ongoing, the situation is a definite reminder of the fragility of the

    During the above window, the networking team will be performing some proactive software upgrades of our edge routers in NYC3.  This is to address some identified bugs and to improve performance of the routers.
    
    Expected Impact:
    
    We expect the impact of this change to be minimal; however, you may experience short periods of latency lasting 1 to 2 minutes, or packet loss lasting up to 1 minute while traffic is rerouted.

    With this migration comes round the clock support and Network Operation Services.
